A simple button for henchies and pets to "Stay Put" would make me happy as hell.

I'm not a fan of the story mission 'bonuses' and challenge mission performance being based on time only. Challenge types being like this are more understandable, granted. I agree with the sentiments earlier about the negative aspects of time trials - it discourages you from stopping to smell the flowers (the exploration aspect), stopping to think about any strat before charging on to the next group of mobs, or taking a RL break to go to the bathroom for that matter. I find I pretty much have to bring full damage builds in every mission, because using anything subtle that would be effective against fewer, more powerful or more tactical situations is completely outclassed by AOE, warrior damage or minions. Instead of people running between hubs and taking the missions at their own pace, the missions have become the thing to 'run' as fast as possible, because that's the only way to get out of the city and on to the rest of the game (like the IMO nifty competitive missions, which I think they should have made more of, and placed earlier).

I love ANET, but was very disappointed with Factions.

I feel bad that everything I've come up with has been posted.

The PvE monsters are a bit uninspiring... besides the occasional error on my part I can hench the overland stuff and the quests are frankly a bit annoying.

The missions are hit and miss, nothing is more frustrating than scrambling through Viz only to find out that the other team is compose of a level 15ish A/Mo and henchies and Togo dies as charge through a pool of monsters. Course, when you get to the next part and are wading through wave after wave of critters its alright. But the rest of the missions are a bit... bland. Dragon fight is well, quick.

The henchie AI uses retardedAImonk.dll but beyond that, I really can't figure out why they gave Talon and Sissie Tai the same AI... Talon uses Charges skill, Tai charges into melee range.

It was an expansion, I'd say it was worth $30. As a stand-alone... its worth... ummmm... yeah, errrr... maybe eee... ehmmm no! Course you have to remember that you are paying $25 dollars for PvE and $25 for PvP. Find comparable games from that aspect on the market, I can't think of any.

I'm disappointed when looking at a PvE, or even a PvP, only aspect... but when I add it all up, its a fine expansion, crappy stand-alone.

I've finished with my prophecy char & new cantha char storyline & sidequests (including both kurzick/luxons) & explored every corner of world map that expansion has. Elite missions are only ones that I haven't seen yet.

I like the landscape, mission variety & new items to collect.

But this is not exatcly standalone game compared to prophecies imo too. My chars show 95% explored of Cantha. 95% in one week of normal gaming.

RPG to me = exploring vast, exciting, dangerous lands & some kind of freedom to do all that. Cantha is exciting but it feels that after week of playing there aren't many places in Cantha to explore anymore.

Conclusion: I love the game & content but story is little bit short & exploring whole world takes very little time.

I was disappointed that I was quite quickly at level 20 (when I left the Island I was lvl 18). Since I only played Factions during headstart I henched all the way to Calvalon / HzH.
I don't know if it still a problem but I ran into quite a few bugs during headstart. That is the reason why I cancled my CE order. I'm not going to pay 40 £ for a unfinished game.
Also Factions offers quite a lot of missons, too many. If you have created a new character you know what I mean. Alone finishing all the quests for secondary profession takes ages.

I'm taking my time with my char in Factions (I bought mine over from Tyria); no big complaints so far...
Read the very first post in the thread As a matter of fact, I've brought my Tyrian char to Cantha. With that char I did virtually everything (90% map unlocked, "best" items etc etc) but more importantly, i had almost every skill on that char. I bought all the new skills in Cantha of which I thought them being usefull. This resulted in the problem I've mention in my first argument (see original threadstart again)

If you bring a high-end Tyrian char (in my case a warrior) the game is simply to easy cause ur char is already so developed. Maybe for a local char, the game is a bit more difficult, but the ammount of assassins and ritualists I've seen in the last mission seems to prove otherwise.

sooooo true.
started a pve charr (assassin of course), and I was very disapointed. it's so easy! no need for pug. even those nasty henchmen (the monk one, omg, I would prefer alesia :|!!) can take ennemis down.
I've done the first mission with a tyria char: we get master rank. 3 leavers. facing 20 monsters.

The only rant i have about Factions PVE.... is its extremely short. And im not talking about using my lvl20's from tryia. Im talking about using a new char, 3-4 hours to get from the first mission to the last, and thats not rushing, i was taking it easy. I find it slightly strange that the whole storyling would revolve around one person, Shiro, who dies really quickly, and you can get to him with ease? That doesn't sound like the game it should be? Unless Anet can come up with some brilliant idea to make PVE in Factions more time consuming ans satisfying, im getting the feeling that they want to reduce the pve, to make room for pvp..

Something tells me that the devs at Anet are pvp fanatics.

Bah..

My fault; I thought you had decided to try PvE in Factions, not Prophecies...
